We spent a lovely evening at anged and iainh's, enjoying pleasant company, interesting wine, a lovely kitten and tasty food. Thanks everyone! Then we came home and poured YoungBloke into bed, at 11.30pm. Hard to believe that he's five already. When we were creating the nursery we chose colours and furniture we could live with for five years because by then it would probably need redecorating and with MFI furniture we'd probably be replacing that too. Monday night was the church's bonfire and fireworks party. youngbloke started asking to go as soon as we picked him up from nursery and got in a strop because we had to go home first. The bonfire wasn't being lit till after we get home, so it's not as though we were going to be late, but it's hard to explain that to a small tired child ( Read more... )

So, next September YB starts school, which throws up, erm, challenges. Currently OB and I work 25 miles away from home, at the same establishment, and YB goes to nursery 10mins from our respective offices. We all drive in to Mcr together, OB and I can do a full day's work (plus, invariably, a little flexi for me) and then we all go home together. ( Read more... )
