Discussed with YB last night and I explained that it's not him not remembering to go to the toilet, it's that the bit of his brain that has to send messages to his bladder isn't grown up enough yet. Three for three. I got YB up at 11ish. OB woke up around 6.20 this morning and woke YB up for a wee - a big one, apparently. OB nearly persuaded YB to go back to sleep, but then he saw that there was a 6 on the clock and that was it.

YoungBloke has been saying recently that he doesn't want to wear nappies at night - but has, in his entire life (4yrs, 10mo) managed roughly 2 nights without a wet nappy. This week k425sbug learnt to walk. I can't quite believe it, but it's a fantastic sight. My baby boy, staggering and wobbling across the living room to collapse in a heap with a megablok, or carrying a spoon around to help his balance. That's my baby. I think we can safely say that, after a few weeks of basically rotating on the laminate flooring, k425sbug has reached early crawling. He digs in with his toes, pulls hard with his hands and centimetres* forward - still sliding on his tummy but now in the direction he wants. He also does press-ups but can't co-ordinate movimg that way ( Read more... )

So, at 7 months old k425sbug has his first two teeth. This is actually quite exciting even though it means now I have to start remembering to "brush" them every day and can expect at some point in the not too distant future to be bitten on some part of my anatomy ( Read more... )
