What happened at work yesterday:

I was supposed to work in the Fudgery, where we sell fudge.  Unfortunately, someone called in, so I had to go work the middle cash register in Looney Tunes Mainstreet.  I really wanted to box up fudge for people because it's fun and smells good, but the middle till in Mainstreet has a Batcave.  I was there for a few ( Read more... )

So I don't have to go in to work today---they called me and told me not to come, probably because it's dangerously hot outside and/or the crowds aren't very large.  It's okay because now I don't have to go in until Thursday, and then my hours become more regular.

I worked my first day as a cashier at Six Flags today!  It was pretty good overall.  I was working while people took their breaks, so I was all over the park, and I was supposed to work the Justice League gift shop, but then they told me to go to "Close-Outs", where everything is on sale...and there's no air-conditioning.  I handled it a lot better ( Read more... )

1. Basic job orientation at Six Flags on Saturday.  It was pretty good, and I got to play in the park afterward (I went on the Batman and the Joker, for dichotomy's sake).  Everyone had the option of going into the park, but most people left because they were starving since Human Resources provided only soda, Skittles, and Starburst as sustenance ( Read more... )

My internship is ending.  My last day is tomorrow.  I kind of sad because I've really enjoyed my time here.  I got in the elevator this morning and realized it's one of the last times I'll ever ride it up to the fifth floor.  I'm going to miss the routine and my desk and my editors and my fellow interns.  Well, I've gotten a lot of great experience ( Read more... )
