What you find when you work for a lifestyle magazine.

So this celeb jewelry designer, Erica Courtney, is having a trunk show in St. Louis two weekends from now, and my fellow interns and I spent our morning gawking at her purple prose-filled website.  And then we found a clip of her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, telling one bride-to-be housewife that a pair of earrings she liked cost $40,000.  WHO THE HELL BUYS EARRINGS LIKE THAT?

Anyway, her "About Erica" page is the freaking best:

Erica Courtney tirelessly travels the world to source the most precious, most coveted, most unique gemstones to set in 18k gold and platinum using countless pave diamonds. Every single gem and rare Tahitian pearl is handpicked by Erica- she lets the stones and pearls “speak” to her thus working only with materials that inspire her. Courtney takes great pride in sketching every single design personally, as a one-woman design staff-dynamo, as well as having all of her creations produced locally, in Los Angeles, by a 2nd generation master artisan. Erica’s intense love affair with master craftsmanship is embodied in each and every exquisite piece in her award-winning collection.

Oh, God, remember when we all used adjectives like that when we were 15?  Those were good times.

It's a pretty good laugh, and the jewelry is pretty.

internet, work, wtf?!
