Most of Alabama woke this morning to some sort of snow, from the Tennesee state line all the way south to Mobile. We only saw a dusting, but there were several inches accumulation farther north. I slept! At least seven hours. It had started getting scary. Last night, I was genuinely ill. Anyway, I fell asleep about 10:30 p.m., after dozing most of the night, and I slept until...it was almost sunrise. Cold today, and very, very cold last night, at least for Birmingham. There were actually icicles on the outcrop of Hartselle Sandstone out back. We saw a tiny bit of weak sun yesterday, and it was a welcome thing in this cold season of rain and gloom. Currently, it's raining and a fairly warm 62˚F; we have a wind advisory and much chillier temperatures on the way.
