Just after I made my blog entry yesterday, a thunderstorm arrived, and I swear it has been raining almost continuously ever since. Our high today was only 8.1F, with a heat index of 85F. After the unusually hot, dry June and early July, we're jumped back to April.

A wintry day in Alabama. There is more than five inches of snow in some areas north of us. So far, nothing here, and we may be spared, but there's a good chance we'll get freezing rain after dark. A little warmer today and good sun. We reached 56˚F. Very cold last night with a low of 26˚F. Next week is forecast to be the warmest of the year, however, with highs in the low eighties.

Annnnnnnnd another fine, sunny Alabama autumn day. Last night got chilly, all the way down to 42˚F. Our high today was 73˚F.

I hardly slept last night. I was awake after 3:30 a.m., and I finally got up at 5. By 6 I was working. I finished proofreading "Bradbury Weather" (for Bradbury Weather), which took about an hour and a half. Then I lay down ( Read more... )
