Been to user group for Westlaw and Lawtel today. Got a notebook and a shiny pen from Lawtel and a USB memory stick from Westlaw. And a packet of Opal Fruits from the venue.

The promo people were handing out pots of Choco Latte at London bridge station this morning. I had mine after lunch. Nice and all, but it basically seems to be a way to market chocolate milk to the over-sevens. Not that I'm complaining.

Went on a Quark Xpress training course yesterday. Quite interesting, and fun to mess around with, though I think it's probably a sledgehammer to crack a walnut for our needs in the library.

Last Sunday I saw Hero, which fairly floated my boat - I always liked the bonkers Chinese martial arts movies back when they didn't have decent budgets, direction or acting.  Now you get all that plus lovely art-house visuals and a more-or-less coherent plot.  Fantastic.

Didn't do much on the dissertstion at the weekend.  Went to the park on saturday for an hour's break from not doing enough work, and was given a promotional KissFM frisbee.  On Sunday, I went over to Iain's for sword practice.  It was very hot and humid, even at 5pm, and sparring in helm and gauntlets with long swords was quite knackering - even ( Read more... )
