My friend decided to get a fancy new Sony Vaio desktop so I bought his 3-year old Gateway desktop for a song.  It's way higher end than my old one and runs like a rocket, especially with cable wireless ISP.  Setting up was a piece of cake until I had to deal with my DSL connection.

Pretty spring day here in TX and I'm actually at home to enjoy it.  No obligations, just down time.  I've been busier than I'd like to be, mostly helping my recovering friend with a little cooking, errands, etc.  Long trips out to the country are nice, but it's hard to get anything done when you're gone so much.  But friends help friends through ( Read more... )

Seeing The Police open the Grammy Awards last night was just, wow.  Didn't watch the rest of the show because it couldn't have been any better than that.  Ended up watching the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Awards) which was interesting.  Coolest award was a Fellowship honor to a lady who has been editing film for over 40 years.  ( Read more... )
