Today was very busy, but a lot of it wasn’t CG-related.

The biggest thing I did today was get the PDF of issue 12 formatted. It took longer than I’d expected - partly because there was so much more material, but also because there’s a lot more images than our regular issues, all of which needed resizing. We got back some of the edited content with comments, all of which were pretty reasonable. So I was able to take some of it and get it formatted and inserted into the document for the print edition. The new layout looks pretty kickass with actual text in it! I also worked on some more details slightly reworking the print layout to adjust for things ( Read more... )

Okay. The Print edition is well and truly done. Except for one bio I still don’t have. Everything else is done, and I truly mean everything. I think we’re going to have to start enforcing deadlines on author bios… I never thought it would take such coercion to squeeze 150 words out of people.

Up until late on Friday I’d actually forgotten that today is Father’s Day. Go figure. Despite our son deciding not to take a nap at all today, Kay and I still managed to find time to read through the rest of the Flash Fiction submissions. Let me tell you, it was HARD to choose! Okay, so this isn’t as big a deal as it’ll be when we publish our twelfth issue, or get our 1000th subscription (ha), but it’s a big deal to us, a confirmation that CG is really growing by leaps and bounds.
