Sory for the lack of posting in the past few days. The release of Issue 12, and then me and my whole family getting sick, slowed us down considerably. I think we knew we were all getting sick even back around the 30th, but we beat it back until after our party and the release; then it hit us hard, and we’re still recovering.

What an awesome day!

The LGBTQ issue has been released! The early response has been wonderful!

To our utter delight, today has been the best single day of traffic to our site… EVER. Not by a small margin either, and there’s still a couple of hours to go. And people are staying and reading, too! Woo! (Now if only a few of them would buy the issue… ( Read more... )

Getting anxious for Halloween. Halloween means our Halloween/Issue 12 party, and the day after, Release Day. Oh yeah.

We actually have more to do to prepare for the party then we do for the Release! I’ve been doing some little tweaks to the website here and there, but we’re really ready.

As I mentioned in a post earlier, Issue 9’s cover art was featured in a post on BoingBoing. It drove a lot of traffic to the site, which was a nice surprise - we didn’t know about the post until it’d been up for about 4 hours. All submissions to Issue 10 that we’ve received have been read. Kay and I went through the last 20 or so, including the ones we received today. A few more pretty good ones in today’s batch. We’ll read new submissions as they come in now.

Not a complicated day today. Mainly it was reading, and monitoring the response to the new issue. Pretty good response, too!

I did deal with a couple little errors that needed correcting - I left out a link to a contributor’s blog, for example, and had to add it in. Nothing major, though.

The pdf edition of Issue 8 is pretty much done. I got the entire thing reformatted to 8.5″ x 11″. But I realized that I hadn’t properly sized the cover to 8.5 x 11, so I couldn’t do the merging of the various pieces (I was at work). I’ll do the sizing over the weekend (it doesn’t take long) and merge the pieces when I get back to my day job on ( Read more... )
