It’s been 11 months since Crossed Genres released our LGBTQ issue, and so we’re sad to say that October is the last month it will be around. The LGBTQ has been (so far) our most successful issue and (we believe) did a lot to bring attention to LGBTQ characters in SFF. We’re very sorry to see it go.

We’re approaching the end of September, and depending on how those last few days go we have a reasonable chance of receiving more submissions to our Characters of Color issue than we did last year, for our double-sized LGBTQ issue. When I started writing this blog, it was with the intent of showing what goes into the production of a small science fiction & fantasy magazine. It’s very hard to struggle back into a rhythm of work after being flung out of it for so long. To anyone who says 5 days isn’t a long time, I say: clearly you have never truly been in this kind of rhythm.

Sory for the lack of posting in the past few days. The release of Issue 12, and then me and my whole family getting sick, slowed us down considerably. I think we knew we were all getting sick even back around the 30th, but we beat it back until after our party and the release; then it hit us hard, and we’re still recovering.
