I've been saving change for several months, now. Rather than deal out exact change when buying something, I always round up to the next dollar and the put the change away. I took it to the CoinStar machine and I had almost $50! Of course, they charge you a fee of 8.9% if you cash it out, but the fee is waived if you transfer it to a gift card. ( Read more... )

Three weeks ago I got Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) from amazon.com and I FINALLY got around to installing it over the weekend. It took a lot of research and planning, because I wanted to do a clean install on both my laptop and desktop -- something I haven't really done since I started using OS X (6 years?), thanks to the nice migration assistant. So I've got my iMac and my work PC set up in this bookshelf cabinet thingy, but I never use them directly. I just use my iMac for watching movies and stuff, and work on my PC using remode desktop on my laptop. I got 4 new tires for my car. They're pretty much the same ones I had before (Michelin X Radials from Costco). My old ones were getting really worn out, where you could see cracks in them exposing the steel belts, which were even looking frayed a bit. So... When the guys who delivered my living room furniture left, they forgot to take with them this big ream of paper having all of the day's deliveries on there (it was also the place where you sign to acknowledge delivery). My bedroom furniture has shipped much sooner than I expected. It should be ready for delivery as soon as I am there to accept it! I'm pretty psyched about that, and I will post pics as soon as they are available.
