New toy

I've been saving change for several months, now. Rather than deal out exact change when buying something, I always round up to the next dollar and the put the change away. I took it to the CoinStar machine and I had almost $50! Of course, they charge you a fee of 8.9% if you cash it out, but the fee is waived if you transfer it to a gift card. I went with the Amazon.com gift card and decided to get myself something from my wish list.

It's a drawing tablet! I'm hoping that it will make graphics work easier (anything must be easier than using the touch pad) and plus I can now go on iSketch and dominate! I had a good experience buying it, too. I made the order on Wednesday night, it had free super-saver shipping (UPS ground so expect a week), but it shipped yesterday from Lexington and arrived this afternoon!

So far, I think I will like it. The setup was a cinch and the packaging was very nice, although there are a couple of things right off the bat that I don't like. (1) Too many things to keep up with, there is a cord and a pen and a mouse and the pen rest thingy in addition to the tablet itself! (2) The cord itself -- I guess I'm spoiled by having a bunch of wireless stuff, and my numeric keypad has a retractable usb cord which is tits. I don't understand why everything doesn't have a retractable cord these days, it's awesome. Anyway, (2) isn't such a big deal and I think I will look into getting a laptop organizer thingy to deal with (1). Currently I have a sleeve and a backpack which has been okay except the backpack feels a little juvenile and the sleeve is a little too bulky leaving not much room for other stuff.
