THREE WEEKS
It's been over THREE WEEKS since I updated LJ. (See userpic for "two weeks" Total Recall reference)
My water heater went out this past weekend. I'm staying home tomorrow morning because a guy is supposed to come at 8 am and fix it under my house warranty contract. Hopefully that will go well, it seems to be possibly some sort of electrical short which could burn my house down if I don't get it resolved. That would suck.
I'm also waiting on an authentication letter to arrive in the mail from AT&T. As I previously mentioned on here, I made the switch from Comcast to AT&T DSL service, and in order to get eBill service through my bank, they have two options for authentication: the first is to validate yourself over the phone, although I don't have local phone service through AT&T so that isn't an option. The other method is to have them send you some sort of code through the snail mail. I'm glad I decided [to attempt] to pay my bill on the 12th rather than when it is due on the 18th, because they are taking their sweet-ass time getting this token to me. I requested it Thursday afternoon and it still hasn't arrived; I will be calling them tomorrow to bitch about their silly system.
I'm ALSO waiting on the gift I ordered for dad -- actually I ordered 2 of this thing, one for myself. I'm super-excited about it, but since I haven't gotten a shipping notice I'm getting a little anxious that it won't arrive in time for my trip to Memphis this weekend. If it doesn't come, I can just tell him about it and ship it next week. I don't want to reveal what it is just yet but I will drop the hint that they have a semi-unique protocol (for this type of thing at least) where you place an order and wait up to 2 weeks for fulfillment. There are more subtle hints in my friendfeed.
