After work I went to a nearby gas station. Upon leaving--well, long story short--I drove out too quickly, went down a nasty curb and ended up with a flat tire. I was considering going to DucKon this weekend, but have decided against it. I am, instead, saving my money and considering going to Chicon. Hopefully, I should be out of this crummy funk I am in now.

Got home from work and got my clothes in the washers. There was exactly $3.00 on my laundry card--the washers are $1.50 each, the dryers $1.25 each. Took a shower, then put my clothes into the dryers. Had to wait 20 more minutes for the office to open so I could put more money on my card. It seems like I've not been around lately but I am. I still don't have internet service at home (so many neighbors with wifi but all of them password protected). 1. I went to the bank yesterday to see about retrieving my ATM card. It turned out there was a block on the card which was why the machine wouldn't give it back. The teller couldn't determine exactly why. She told me that generally blocks are put on cards (if not requested by the card holder) because it is an older card that has the account number ( Read more... )

Yesterday I finished my taxes. I went to a library and made a copy of everything. Across Kirchoff Road is a Jewel. I needed to buy envelopes (well 1 anyway) for my state return. At the other end of the strip mall is a post office.

1. So I am settled in the Motel 6. No microwave, refrigerator or coffee maker. Not having a coffee maker sucks, but I might still have mine buried in my car.

The room is in better condition than at the previous motel, though.
