There is one washer and one dryer being shared amongst 12 apartment tenants. I bought my own compact washer and dryer and put the washer in the bathroom. I figured it would be easiest to hook it up to the sink and drain it in the bathtub. That way I wouldn't have to worry about whether or not the kitchen sink would drain fast enough.

Got home from work and got my clothes in the washers. There was exactly $3.00 on my laundry card--the washers are $1.50 each, the dryers $1.25 each. Took a shower, then put my clothes into the dryers. Had to wait 20 more minutes for the office to open so I could put more money on my card. I have to work tonight.

Tomorrow the water in my building will be shut off "for about 20-30 minutes sometime between 9:00am and 5:00pm" due to "a maintenance issue". WTF. 1. I found out it is not a good idea to store a bottle of liquid fabric softener in the car during temperatures below freezing. Because, yeah, fabric softener freezes.

It looks like I will be in Illinois longer than I originally planned. The only issue I had was clothes. I don't own very many pairs of jeans. Before I got fired from my job, I had to keep rotating the ones I have. I'd wear 2 or 3 pair & wash them. I could not dry them b/c they would shrink & they were only just comfortable as they were.
