What have I just done?

I called Casa to ask them about a clinical placement in May.  I was told that I likely would NOT get 7 births in two weeks, maybe in three weeks.  I really didn't want to be gone for more than 2 weeks, and 4 weeks seems absolutely unbearable especially since Charlotte is still so young :-/   I wish I could take her with me.

* Tonight I emailed the clinical dean of my school to ask for help and advice about securing another clinical placement.   As much as I know I need to do this, I'm resisting the idea of leaving my family and going to the US again.

I first called a midwife in Great Falls/Helena Montana.  She was very friendly and was driving through a snowstorm as she talked with me.  She only has 1 birth in January, 4 in Feburary, and 2 in March so she's not busy enough for me :-/    She was very nice though, and told me to call her back if I had no other options ( Read more... )

I would be there for a year, but maybe could stay longer.  If I have to move my family somewhere I'd like to stay long enough for Kim to graduate, KWIM?

Apprentice fees are $500 a month, but students can work 10 hours/week to pay for it.  These 10 hours would be in addition to their regular 8:30 - 5 p.m. hours + births.  Students are responsible for ( Read more... )

Jack, Charlotte and I went to Saskatoon today, we did a tiny bit of Christmas shopping and attended a midwifery association meeting.  As usual, I came home equally frustrated and driven to finish and get registered.

Jack didn't have to go to work early this morning so I got to sleep in!   After Kim and Julia went to school he spent some time doing outside chores and errands with Charlotte and when they got back, I could tell they'd both enjoyed their time together.  It does my heart good to see my husband and daughter(s) enjoying each other's company.
