What have I just done?
I called Casa to ask them about a clinical placement in May. I was told that I likely would NOT get 7 births in two weeks, maybe in three weeks. I really didn't want to be gone for more than 2 weeks, and 4 weeks seems absolutely unbearable especially since Charlotte is still so young :-/ I wish I could take her with me.
I was told that they usually have a fee reduction for students who came for at least two months (which I did) but they need to return to Casa within two years (which I haven't). They will email me tonight or tomorrow and let me know if I will get the fee reduction, otherwise it's another $2000 for their fees and about $1000 for airfare and travel. Do you know how many hours I have to work to make that kind of money!?
I printed off the application for Casa and filled it out. Haven't I done this before? *headdesk*
I requested official transcripts be sent to the College of Midwives of Manitoba for PLEA. I also asked for an unofficial list of my classes and grades be sent to Casa (as they requested).
Tomorrow I will paste on a smile and go get 'passport' pictures for my PLEA and Casa applications. Oy.
I started to moan about how it's not fair that I have to go through so much to be able to legally work in Canada, how I'm not allowed to do any clinical locally because of liabilty insurance issues, blah blah blah. No moaning, it's a waste of time and energy. I'll get this done, even if it means buying a 4 week clinical placement instead of new floors and doors :-/
