Jack didn't have to go to work early this morning so I got to sleep in! After Kim and Julia went to school he spent some time doing outside chores and errands with Charlotte and when they got back, I could tell they'd both enjoyed their time together. It does my heart good to see my husband and daughter(s) enjoying each other's company.
Making time for school work is still an impossible challenge these days. My house is going to rot for the rest of the month because between my job and my school deadlines, I just can't keep up.
I'm still trying to arrange a clinical placement somewhere to get the last of my requirements for registration. Calgary is out of the question, I do NOT want to go anywhere and leave my family behind again, so we're considering other options, including the US. I've contacted two other midwives in Alberta and I haven't heard back from either of them yet. We had made arrangments to go to Calgary this weekend to meet wtih some midwives in person but now that Calgary is out of the question, we're trying to make alternate plans. Jack took the time off work, we've arranged for someone to come and stay and help Kim with the Littles, so now we just need to figure out which direction to go when we leave town. Will it be east? west? south? I'm too much of a control freak to not know!
I work tonight and again tomorrow morning so I'm crunched for time to make Charlotte's "owner manual" for this weekend, prepare food, buy groceries, wash bedding, pack, etc. I suspect tonight will be a very late night for me, considering I work until 11 p.m. If I don't hear back from these other two midwives, Jack and I may just go to the city overnight. To have a meal, go to a big new movie theater, and sleep in a hotel room without being overwhelmed or interrupted by our kids will be heavenly.
Now for a quick shower while Charlotte naps, make lunch for the kidlets, take out the garbage, move laundry, get the mail, then go work a 9 hour shift (on my feet the whole time). Paying bills and making supper will have to fit in there somewhere too :-/
