Ken Follett taught me something valuable....
I learned a new favorite sentence:
"It's pissing rain."
A character utters that phrase in the first few pages of The Pillars of the Earth--which, by the way, was an excellent read. Slow to start, yes, but once I got into it, I just couldn't stop. I also almost cried at the end ( Read more... )
