Ken Follett taught me something valuable....
I learned a new favorite sentence:
"It's pissing rain."
A character utters that phrase in the first few pages of The Pillars of the Earth--which, by the way, was an excellent read. Slow to start, yes, but once I got into it, I just couldn't stop. I also almost cried at the end.....
But what's really important? Thanks to Ken Follett's wonderful book, I can look out my window and say that it is indeed pissing rain.
I know, because I rode my bike home from work in it. The sirens didn't start until after I got inside, though.
