Yeesh, buying kitchen staples is expensive. I bought a bunch of spices and my bill ran to $50 (there were a few other things besides spices, but most of that cost was the spices themselves, even with me picking the cheapest brands and such). One of the Smithsonian photographers was taking pictures of all the interns a few weeks ago, and he wanted "action" shots of us. Yeah, an archivist in action is not generally photographically interesting. Most of what I do is scanning and/or data entry on the computer. Eeeee, I'm all signed up for my apartment!! The lease and accompanying sheafs of paperwork have all been signed now. J. (new roommate) took me back to the apartment after so I could scope it out again for moving logistics. And dudes, I will have space in the refrigerator!!!
