Well, the trip was an awful lot of fun! New food, new people, new places. It had a few incidents as well; I got bitten all over by what I suspect were bedbugs, I had my bank card generously cancelled by Scotiabank, who decided that my overseas withdrawals were suspicious, and froze my withdrawal limit at $1. For our last evening in Barcelona on 3rd June, we agreed to try tapas (Small servings of things: you order about 3 if you're hungry. I quite enjoyed them.) OK, I´ve got like 30 seconds for this post. Forget spelling. Yesterday we had Chinese for dinner, it felt like home. They looked at us funny because we were white people using chopsticks! Today we went to the medieval synagogue in the old Jewish quarter in Barcelona. It was a tiny space half underground, because there used to be restrictions on the size of synagogues in medieval times. Quick post. Orange was absolutely lovely; fantastic well-preserved Roman theatre with its ´stage wall´ still standing, one of only 3 in the world. Lovely Arc de Triomphe, roman-style. Of course I ate an orange in front of the Orange sign, and Sue took a picture ( Read more... )
