For our last evening in Barcelona on 3rd June, we agreed to try tapas (Small servings of things: you order about 3 if you're hungry. I quite enjoyed them.) There was a tapas restaurant conveniently located next to our hotel, with questionable English translations on the menu. Guess what the following translations actually mean: (answers below the cut)
1) Chocolate of the warm chocolate to the vanilla.
2) Brave potatoes.
3) 1/2 furnace chicken.
4) Chicken to the plate.
5) Salmon iron.
1) This was a warm chocolate brownie/muffin thing, with vanilla ice cream.
2) "Patatas bravas", peeled fried potatoes, with sauce. Quite yummy, actually.
3) 1/2 a barbeque chicken, "al horno".
4) Chicken "a la plancha" (which we thought meant on a plank, but apparently it might have been in an iron skillet or something? We didn't order it.)
5) Salmon "a la plancha".
