Leo, dressed in his white uniform sans cape, headed out to the front of the 'stage'. The microphone was handed off to him despite the fact that he likely did not need it, due to the natural volume of his voice. In his other hand, he already carried a set of small, white cue-cards.
"Thank you!" he replied proudly, though it was mostly drowned out by the crowd's applause. He waited for them to settle down before continuing. "Good morning, everyone! It is my pleasure to be your MC, and to witness with all of you what is sure to be one of the greatest cooking contests in all of Reial!"
The man was surprisingly enthusiastic about this. What could he say? He liked these sorts of competitions.
"But! Let us not waste any time. Allow me to introduce our panel of judges!"

"Our first judge for today is the daughter of the esteemed Celadon family from Colvus. While currently working as a strategist aboard the Serenity, she is also both a teacher and the owner of her own perfume shop. However, you may know her as one of the eight leaders of the Vohemar League. It is an honor to have her with us tonight; everyone, please welcome Erika Celadon!"
"Next, joining us on behalf of the Bernadelli Insurance Society is one of their claims agents -" Leo paused to give the cooks a warning look, as if to say please do not burn down the kitchen while she is here "- currently stationed as the records keeper of the Amestris. A woman with a special place in her heart for tea and sweets; please give a warm welcome to Millie Thompson!"
"Joining us as the youngest judge on our panel tonight... she is a former student from Melior, currently working as a Navigator on the Convoy. It is my pleasure to introduce: Serah Farron!"A man of ( ... )

But besides that, Link was all smiles, albeit, he was playing with the tip of his sock cap a bit. Till he figured he might as well ask a question, if only to rile Leo up a bit.
"So MC! Who are you rooting for? And why so much white?"

Interesting panel she is with, and some.....special contestants in this contest. Hopefully, they will have great food.
As for her Vileplume, she is hidden backstage, probably sleeping and out of the way from any of the working crew.

Watanuki had spent days in preparation for this. He'd researched obscure ingredients and practiced delicate cooking techniques until he could do them in his sleep; he'd analyzed countless reports of competitions and contestants past; he'd carefully washed and pressed his chef's whites and toque and polished all his knives; and in all of this, he'd managed not to realize that an assistant was not optional.
He stared at the MC, blinking in confusion, the pit of his stomach dropping as his mind tried to work its way around this calamity. The seeds of panic began to take root in his mind. "Assistant?" he asked, his voice coming out slightly higher than he intended it to.

He paused, reading Watanuki's reaction as a definite 'no'.
"Not a problem! We will just have to pick an assistant for you, instead." Leo turned slightly towards the audience, to explain what was going to happen now. "At the start of this contest, numbered tickets were distributed to everyone who arrived to watch the contest. I will be drawing a number from a hat to choose your assistant."
There was a pause. Hmm, apparently the volunteer with the hat hadn't gotten the message. He cleared his throat once, and then called towards the contest volunteers, "Bring the hat over here!"
Taking the cue, a contest volunteer hurried over with a large, fancy hat filled with scraps of paper. Leo reached in and mixed them around a bit with his hand before drawing out one of the slips.
"Will the person holding ticket number... 6-6-6 please step forward?"
Now that a troubling number.

Hey, either way, he wasn't gonna complain.
The massive demi-human had accepted his little slip of paper stoically and stuffed it in a pocket without even bothering to look at it. Now, he glanced around as murmurs passed through the crowd around him. Either no one had that number, or no one wanted to own up to it. Not that he blamed them. Out of idle curiosity - and knowing his luck - he fished the crumpled slip from his pocket and looked at it.
Turned it over.
Nope, it was pretty clear which way was "up."
Glowing yellow eyes rolled and those closest to him would hear a soft ( ... )

“Would it be possible if I participated without one?”
[OOC: Yoko’s Assistant is Sam. Pulled out of the audience by the MC?]

Leo turned to the contest volunteers and called, "Bring the hat back out here!"
One of the volunteers hurried over, carrying a large, fancy hat full of slips of paper. Each one had a number on it, which corresponded to ticket numbers distributed to every member of the audience. Leo reached in and rummaged around...
He pulled one out. "Will the person holding ticket number 6-1-6 please step forward?"

Oh, hey the kitsune was here. This looked to be interesting, until he heard the number called out. It couldn't be... yes it was. He walked down still wearing his devil beanie and showed his ticket.
This wasn't going to go well, he had spent way too much time with his head in a book then learning about more practical things, like cooking. Why bother when you could just eat out?
"Hey, again."

Until the word 'assistant' was said. Wait, what?
"Ah.... well, you see..."

"Well, then!" He signaled to one of the volunteers in running the contest. "Bring the hat!"
They brought over a large and quite fancy hat, filled to the brim with little scraps of paper. Each one had a number on it, which corresponded to ticket numbers distributed to every member of the audience. Leo reached into the hat, shuffled around a bit, and pulled out one of the slips.
Well, there was a lucky number if he ever saw one.
"Will the person holding ticket number 0-1-3 please step forward?"

Although really, as he glanced down to his ticket to notice the number zero-one-three printed onto it, the samurai started having second thoughts about this whole thing. In other circumstances he would have kept silent, but this was Scifo he was talking about now, so...
Somewhat reluctantly, the dark-haired man sighed and dropped his cigarette, snubbing it out with the heel of his boot before he stepped forward towards Leo and flashed his ticket. "Here."

"Let's do our best!" She said to Hikari, smiling brightly.

But there was no time to dawdle here. "Good luck to the both of you, and remember to wait for the start signal before you begin!" With that, he hurried off to set up the remaining competitors.
