WHOSE CUISINE REIGNS SUPREME? [OPEN]

Content: WHO WILL BE THE NEXT LIGHTNING CHEF REIAL?
Setting: A field just outside of town, scattered with pavilions.
Time: Around mid-morning
Notes: As was mentioned in the OOC post here, each cook and assistant team will have a thread for food preparation. If your assistant is ICly being pulled out of the audience, you are welcome to assume that has already happened, or play it out in the thread itself, whichever you prefer. If you have not chosen an assistant, an NPC will be provided. You have one week to log out food preparation. Some time before the end of this week (that's before Saturday of next week EST), you must post to the presentation thread below, where the judges will vote ICly. The judges are also free to jump into preparation threads to interact with the contestants, as is the MC. Questions may be directed to the above OOC post.
The field outside of town had been transformed overnight; instead of a plain ocean of fallen flowers, roughly a dozen large pavilions dotted the area like islands. Each one had the name of a contestant pinned to the cloth, and was equipped with an oven and stove, a water pump, a table for food preparation, hastily-assembled shelves filled with any pots, pans, strainers, dicers, or other implements the contestants might need, and a selection of more common ingredients for the contestants to use. Each contestant's area was roped off; though the judges and commentator were free to go inside as they pleased, the audience was to remain on the outside. One guard was stationed at each area to ensure that no over-zealous spectators tried to come too close.
Already, curious people were wandering from pavilion to pavilion, sizing up the competitors. A middle-aged man with a thick handlebar mustache held a microphone, a piece of cutting-edge technology that used the same waves as the journals to transmit his voice to a speaker system in the center of the field, as well as broadcast over the radio. He cleared his throat, testing the mic, then began to speak in a rich, rolling baritone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the seven-year cooking championship, Lightning Chef Reial! It is my pleasure to introduce to you our master of ceremonies and commentator, former captain of the Destiny, Major Leo de Alkirk!"
