Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) has announced that Carey Mulligan will play Daisy Buchanan in his film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. She joins Leonardo Dicaprio, who plays Jay Gatsby, and Tobey Maguire, who stars as Nick Carraway. Deadline was given this atmospheric photo of Mulligan which was taken by Luhrmann during the workshop rehearsals.
