The last time I remember packing up my whole life like this, I was going off to war to fight for the most precious of things that life has to offer. Now, my possessions lie on shore from several treks from my former home. There's nothing noble about this retreat, there's nothing to be fought for this time. All I can hope to do is find some solace

Pepper couldn't remember the last time she felt so harried. Planning something this large on what was essentially short notice would have been taxing back home, but was all the more difficult on the island, which lacked most of the conveniences that made party planning actually enjoyable

Dated 18th September 2009: While the island is beset with strong winds, Jo manages to fall in the river. Her knight in shining armour is Johnny and they end up back at his hut, where she's grateful to him.
This time last year, Harry Welsh had been stuck in a muddy hole in Holland, the company recuperating from the unholy snafu that Operation Market Garden had turned out to be, and any party spirit had been conspicuous by its absence. He was determined that tonight was going to make up for that

August 7th/8th, 2009: For the first homeplot; Johnny wakes up in Austria with Saffron Helen by his side. This being the first time of him witnessing something like this, he's understandably confused about it.
It was Jo's first night back on the island after being home and she couldn't sleep. Technically she hadn't been anywhere, at least that's what everyone told her, but it felt like she had and that was the important part. It was a reminder of everything she'd had at home and could have again, and now she had to go back to this. Not that the island
