When she sees the pair playing with each other, Starfire can't help but miss her Silkie. He couldn't run or jump, he certainly didn't play fetch, and he probably would have eaten that crab rather than chase it, but still...

"Hello," Star greets, waving and offering a smile to the girl. "He is very cute," she says before correcting herself. "Oh. Or she?"

"Hi! Wow, you're eyes are so cool." Coraline blurted out, smiling at the other girl. She was realyl familiar, Coraline couldn't exactly place it as distracted as she was with Bobo. "It's a he. This is Bobo... Bobo? Bobo! Come here!"

Bobo looked behind him before padding back towards Coraline and the other girl. Bobo barked happily at the other girl wagging his tail at her whilst Coraline stared at her. Coraline knew she recognised her but she couldn't quite.... Oh, my God! It was Miley Cyrus! Miley CYRUS!

"Can I have your autograph?"

"Thank you," Star says, laughing quietly once the puppy approached and bending to pet him. "Hello there, Bobo."

She looks up at the girl curiously, wondering why in the universe she'd want her autograph. "Um... Yes? If you would like, but I was under the impression that signing of the autographs was something only asked of famous people. I have never been famous. I have only ever been Starfire."

"It's okay, I like having lots of people's autographs even people who don't think they're famous are sometimes really, really famous." Coraline said smiling happily. Coraline sort of recognised the name Starfire but she couldn't figure out why. "Your name is Starfire? I'm Coraline. Um, I don't have a pen or paper on me can you sign something for me another time?"

Like a Hannah Montana poster or something. That would be so cool.

Bobo tilted his head, sniffing at Helena curiously before bouncing up at her. Bobo barked at her, wagging his tail eagerly.

"Ahuh, although not the Mister Bobo." Coraline explained, tucking the lead into her back pocket. He was okay for now but Coraline worried about the crab or giant squid or boar eating him alive. He really was tiny. "I don't know, I think we could try and teach him. Do you like him? Danny gave him to me."

Bobo stuck his tongue out goofily, rolling onto his back as Helena rubbed his belly. Wagging happily, Bobo lolled about happy to be petted and paid attention to.

"I bet he probably could. I think I'm supposed to teach him sensible things though first like not chewing Jake's stuff or doing his business inside the house." Coraline said making a face at doing boring things. Coraline had to stick with it though otherwise Danny would never talk to the council for her and that was the most important bit.

Juliet’s walking the beach, her haven more often than not. This time she’s without the rum, barefoot in shorts, a tank top, and letting her hair blow out around her. It’s getting long now, almost down to the middle of her back, and it’s curly today from the humidity. She’s used to it, has been used to it for three years, so she doesn’t even bother to tie it back anymore

Coraline looked at the other woman in awe. Coraline was completely uncomfortable, not scared or anything, with the crabs and especially the larger ones on the beach. They were just creepy. Their tiny beady eyes, their legs... they were just really, really creepy. Coraline had always had Sarah to chase them away but now she had another new blonde champion.

"That was so cool!" Coraline said smiling brightly. Bobo trailled after the other lady, wagging his tail and barking up at her. "Thanks, he's really... energetic. He always runs at things before thinking."

Just like her really.

Juliet sinks down to stroke the top of the puppy’s head. “Oh, it’s no problem. I knew a golden retriever once. His name is Vincent,” she smiles, remembering Walt’s dog fondly and wondering what ever happened to him. “But Vincent wasn’t a puppy when I met him, how long have you had your dog?”

It’s been a while since she’s made conversation with someone she doesn’t know on this island, let alone someone far away from her age, but she realizes she misses it, misses the ease of a conversation with another person.

"Um, not long. Danny, he's my friend, got him for me. I have a cat too but he's from home," Coraline said grinning as Bobo thumped his tail happily in the sand. Bobo yapped at her, running around in a circle before back to Coraline. Coraline offered her hand, smiling at the lady. "I'm Coraline and this is Bobo. He's supposed to teach me about responsibility and stuff."

Pets were fairly common on the island, not that Jacob had ever gotten one. He liked dogs and cats well enough but when a person used to be able to phase into a werewolf at will, pets started looking a little too much like the occasional snack and a little less like a furry friend. Still, he liked to see other people with theirs and Coraline chasing after a puppy was definitely something new.

"Did the island give you that? I thought presents came in February," Jacob said, bending down a little to call to the dog.

Bobo turned his head, ears raised a little as he looked at the newcomer before he bounded over happily.

"No, Danny gave him to me. This is Bobo, Bobo this is Jake. Don't chew his shoes," Coraline said as Bobo bounced up at Jake. Bobo barked excitedly wagging his tail up at Jake. "Danny said if I look after him for six months he's going to talk to the council so I can live on my own. Isn't he the best?"

"He's awesome," Jacob said, bending down to scratch the puppy behind the ears. "And living by yourself, really? Did you want to do that? You know I'd never throw you out of the Homestead, Cor. As long as you want to stay and I'm sure Shari and Bill would agree."

Bobo stuck out his tongue goofily, pressing against Jake's hand as he scratched his ears.

"It's your smelly feet Jakearina. I just can't live with the smell anymore, honestly it's worse than Mister Bobo's flat." Coraline said sighing in exageration. Coraline made a face before shrugging. "It used to be my home. I woke up and I'd go and have breakfast with Cain every morning and he'd teach me how to carve wood and I was happy. It was my home but it's not anymore. I just don't- I don't want to be there. I just want to go home."

By home Coraline meant of course to her and Adam's old hut. Home was the island now.

Danny watches with a bemused smirk on his lips, arms crossed over his torso as he watches the scene at hand. "Okay, so I'm thinking, I'm thinking maybe this whole family of puppies has some inner-ear damage," he drawls idly.

Bobo chased after the crab, barking away quite happily before the crab turned and decided to come after him. Yelping, Bobo turned and ran in the other direction quickly as Coraline sighed and held out her arms for the puppy.

"Wuss puss," Coraline said picking him up as he looked sadly at her and then began to lick her face. Coraline turned and looked at Danny smiling at him. "What do you mean? He's brilliant, aren't you Bobo?"

"Yeah, well, Zulu's not bright," Danny drawls, a smirk on his lips. "I mean, the dog's kind of an idiot, but then, I guess he's just taking after Steve." He smiles brightly at Coraline, proud of the fact that his gift is making her happy. "How's he been otherwise? You take him to the vet, yet?"

"Maybe you just think he's an idiot, maybe it's all a cunning plan to take over the island." Coraline said knowingly. Coraline scratched Bobo's head as he licked her face. Bobo wasn't as bright as Cat but Cat was well, Cat. "He's okay. He hasn't chewed anyone's shoes yet but he did have one of my best pair of wellies. Didn't you?"

Coraline made a face but still smiled. She couldn't be angry at him just like she couldn't be angry at the Other Father or the other dogs. They couldn't disobey the way they'd been made. "I'm going to take him to see Miss Helen and then he'll be cool."
