"Bobo! Bobo, slow down!" Coraline yelled loudly as she chased after the illusive Bobo. Jumping over a tree root, Coraline skidded onto the boardwalk and stumbled before running straight down the path towards the beach. Coraline shouted again, watching as the golden coloured Bobo sped towards the water at a quick pace. "No, no, no, no! Don't go in ( Read more... )

Bobo tilted his head, sniffing at Helena curiously before bouncing up at her. Bobo barked at her, wagging his tail eagerly.

"Ahuh, although not the Mister Bobo." Coraline explained, tucking the lead into her back pocket. He was okay for now but Coraline worried about the crab or giant squid or boar eating him alive. He really was tiny. "I don't know, I think we could try and teach him. Do you like him? Danny gave him to me."

Bobo stuck his tongue out goofily, rolling onto his back as Helena rubbed his belly. Wagging happily, Bobo lolled about happy to be petted and paid attention to.

"I bet he probably could. I think I'm supposed to teach him sensible things though first like not chewing Jake's stuff or doing his business inside the house." Coraline said making a face at doing boring things. Coraline had to stick with it though otherwise Danny would never talk to the council for her and that was the most important bit.

"Really? You'd want to help?" Coraline asked smiling brightly. "That's brilliant. Danny said that if I look after him and myself that in six months he's going to talk to the council so I can live on my own. Which is so cool."

"I think I could borrow a skateboard," Coraline said distracted from the idea of training Bobo. Coraline could just imagine Bobo cruising down the boardwalk on his skateboard and a pair of sunglasses. He'd be so cool, much cooler than the other dogs. "He'd be so awesome."

Bobo stuck his tongue out happily as he made soft barky noises at Helena nuzzling him.

"Just like the real Mister Bobo," Coraline said smiling at the idea. Danny said Bobo and her had to be alright, he had said nothing about Bobo not being a circus dog. "Do you think we could do it in six months? Then Bobo could skateboard and really impress Danny and then he'd have to say to the council that I'm okay to live on my own."

"I think so. I don't know, I wasn't allowed a dog or pets really. Cat wasn't really mine." Coraline explained. Coraline wondered if it would be enough. She supposed she should probably stay in school too and make sure not to get into too much trouble. "Miss Spink and Miss Forcible had dogs, Scotties and they were all called like Hamish and Macbeth. Mister Bobo had circus mice."

Bobo woofed at Helena, enjoying being completely and utterly spoiled. Bobo was much calmer than he had been.

"I know, we tended to move about too. Never really had that many friends. What was it like? Living in a circus?" Coraline asked curiously. "Dick, he was sort of like my brother. He grew up in a Circus, he was brilliant."

Coraline had never thought that living in a circus would be lonely. She'd always imagined it to be bright and brilliant and well, Dick had always had lots of friends.

"I never thought it would be lonely. Proper school is okay but the other kids weren't-" Coraline made a face. Coraline had always been the odd, curious girl constantly asking questions or making up stories. No one had wanted to be her friend and when she did make friends, she moved. "School here is much nicer. The people here are nicer."
