"Wuss puss," Coraline said picking him up as he looked sadly at her and then began to lick her face. Coraline turned and looked at Danny smiling at him. "What do you mean? He's brilliant, aren't you Bobo?"

Coraline made a face but still smiled. She couldn't be angry at him just like she couldn't be angry at the Other Father or the other dogs. They couldn't disobey the way they'd been made. "I'm going to take him to see Miss Helen and then he'll be cool."

Coraline looked up at Danny sharply. Coraling knew when a but was coming. You can have this Coraline but you have to do chores. You can go rock climbing but only if you wear a million safety harnesses. You can go hang gliding but only when you're sixteen.
"What sort of conditions?" Coraline said, sticking her bottom lip out a little.

"Oh, okay. I get it," Coraline said quietly. Coraline put Bobo down before picking up a stick and throwing it for him. "That's cool. Privacy."
