Ugh, I feel sick. Is my immune system playing a joke on me? "You can't afford to get sick now, but you're studying the immune system, so I'm going to fail on you! Ha ha ha!"

Me: Today I had a doctor's appointment and had a pap smear and breast examination. The doctor's hands were cold; I wish he had done the pap first and warmed up his hands poking around in my vagina! Yesterday I was sick and even missed class today. I had a bit of a sore throat yesterday (it's fine now) and was feeling OK yesterday morning while I was in class, but felt worse throughout the day, feeling feverish in the afternoon and having minor chills in the evening. Today the hospital called to let me know that they have booked my surgery for Monday October 20th at 9:30am (I have to be there at 7:30am, two hours before the surgery). It'll be a relief to finally have the fucking gland removed, but it's annoying that I have to miss school because of it. Good thing I told them to book it after my midterms. I ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my appointment at the VGH gynecology department, and to my disappointment, I did not get the promised surgery. It turns out that my appointment was just a consultation (which is not what I was told), and the gynecologist told me that my surgery won't be until October. Tomorrow afternoon, I have my appointment to possibly have my Bartholin gland removed. I'm not quite sure what to expect, but at my last appointment, the impression I was given was that it would be removed tomorrow, unless it was very infected, which it isn't (I've been celibate for the past couple of weeks so that it wouldn't get re-infected). On Friday I emailed Dave, telling him that it was nice hanging out with him on Wednesday, and told him that I got my cyst drained, and that I will be going back to have surgery.
