This is my first attempt to make a raygun. It's mostly wall lamp parts. I'd never worked with epoxy before, so I didn't know that it doesn't dry clear. I'll need to paint the excess epoxy to blend with the metal better. All in all, I think it came out pretty nicely for my first time.

So I'm kind of curious about something. When it comes to clothing accessories--buttons, buckles, other fastenings, etc.--do you consider brass to be a must? I understand that it's a serious part of the aesthetic and I have no objection to mixing metals, but for the most part I really do prefer silver-colored metal, particularly if it's been " ( Read more... )

Where does everyone find their gears & things? I have been looking everywhere and haven't been able to find anything above the size of watch gears, unless it's occasional post on ebay.
