The Lampray

This is my first attempt to make a raygun. It's mostly wall lamp parts. I'd never worked with epoxy before, so I didn't know that it doesn't dry clear. I'll need to paint the excess epoxy to blend with the metal better. All in all, I think it came out pretty nicely for my first time.

oh wow that looks so cool I love the two ends of the gun and the details in them. Makes it look wicked expensive too :]

I'm just amazed at how all of you guys do this crazy shit, and make a "gun" from scratch, it's really just so awesome >D!!

Thanks! It really wasn't expensive at all. It's entirely thrift store parts and stuff I found in alleyways.

It was a lot of fun to make. I'll definitely be doing more!

How did the Bay Area steam event go this weekend? I have work deadlines and couldn't go!

it went great! Loads of people showed. Not a lot of steamers though. We had a lot of 1920s styles, some 30-40s. The burlesque troupe was awesome. The bands were amazing. We had one woman show up in a dress and top hat made of tin foil.

Money wise we almost broke even, so I'd say it was a success. The event space I know made some good money on drinks so they said they want us to come back often. So it's a good chance this could be a every other month type deal. So maybe you can make the next one if we can organize it.
