Thanks for posting this. I love seeing the patterns from Godey's Lady's Book -- I'd always wondered about them, starting back when I first read "Gone With the Wind", which mentions it several times.

ETA: When I checked the link for the online edtion, it doesn't work. Looks like it must have been taken down.

Try copy and paste to the browser bar. When I tried the direct links from here, they came up blank too, but the copy and paste worked fine for me.
