While my purple fingers continue to strum

Sep 15, 2009 09:07

I'm really trying to practice every day, but my fingers turn purple after a while and really hurt. I'm still building up the callouses on them (which sucks because I cannot stand not having soft hands) so it's a slow process. Also still trying to find songs to learn on guitar as well; I only know so many folk songs and want to learn more. *sigh*  ( Read more... )

Calluses don't have to be scaly and gross, just thick. Keep practicing, you'll get there.

Are you also using your fingernails to pluck the strings? Also what kind of strings are you using? Nylon or steel?

can I call you later?

Steel I believe. They're medium weight which is a lot easier on my fingers than the heavy weight ones I was using.

Yep, you can call. I'm free anytime after 5, hun. Look forward to it; we get to talk, oh do we get to talk.

Talk to Dame Zelina. It's a touchy subject, that one is.

We would LOVE to have you do some Baronial scrolls hon! You're a great C&I artist and we could really use more folks willing to aid with Baronial scroll production.

I kinda fell off the ball for a while there, but with the changes that will be happening I'm hoping to get in touch with Shoshanna and get some done. Thank you *blushes* I appreciate the compliment. My work is getting better, too; it's definitely nice to see an improvement in your own stuff.

If you need help hemming, I volunteer myself. Let me know if you need help. I'm available pretty much any day after 6 pm.

Dude! That would be super-duper awesome! I'd definitely appreciate the help :o) I'm free after 5 on most days... but I don't have your number. Will FB you mine and you can call or text me yours.
... free tomorrow night? I'd be game for some sewing and hanging out then. If it's at my house, we just have the big dog to deal with (but I think you've been over before and know him). I've got a new kitchen table, too, which makes for a nice place to work on projects as well.

That says it all. They're some of the worst drivel out there. They've almost made Anne Rice forgivable in contrast.

Also, moleskin pads. They're designed for hikers with blistered feet. Basically they're a band-aid with a callous. It can help reduce the pain during the transition period...

rofl that's brilliant. Seriously. I'm reading it per Rabbit's request; it's the second book series he's ever asked me to read so I figure I can suffer through it for him.

I'll definitely look into those. They'd definitely help as typing at work is proving to be quite painful and it doesn't help much that I sit in front of a computer pretty much all day long.

I prefer cleolinda's recaps, though that's rather good.
