I've found another podcast to add to my list: The Splendid Table. Another NPR program, this one about delicious gourmet food. It's like having Epicurious poured in your ear. I just tried the Bizbaz Sauce and it was wonderful. I've been feeling uninspired when it comes round to dinner time and this is just what I needed to perk up my creativity.

The weekend flew by. Friday night was Earthdawn with mindways, keshwyn, et. al. Stopped off at rigel’s to lend her a costume piece. The draw down is going well. The first thing to get sacked was the diet. It was near impossible to maintain a diet while also providing food for V and terrier_girl's fickle tummy. Last night terrier_girl and I had keshwyn and mindways over for dinner. It was wonderful to catch up and talk. We also got to break into some of the goods from our new meat share. I did up a boneless leg of lamb with sweet potato pure and sauted kale, both veggies from the tail end of our farm share. Saturday night, terrier_girl made split-pea soup it was uncommonly good. V loved it. I went back for seconds. Tonight I had it as leftovers and it was, in a word, perfect. Ever since I was young, Julia Child has been one of my heroes. There was something about her inelegant sureness, her grand ridiculousness that I found completely engaging. Well, that and I've always loved good food.
