I have a monster project at work due shortly. I will be juggling my way across the finish line. terrier_girl is only semi-functional with her pregnancy, and taking care of V puts her up to and often past her limit. After the long PhD stretch, I feel like we're coming back to life. The family's spent so long in work mode that it still feels like a rare treat to go out or see friends. We seem to be on the upside of the sickness curve around here. After a week of around the clock nebulizer treatments, V is returning to her normal, active self. We've gotten her back on her sleep routine and a sembelence of sanity has been restored. Now that she's got enough energy, she's exploring her words with gusto. Everything we say is ( Read more... )

• I got sick. Then I got sicker. Then I got really sick. Then I got to ride in an ambulance and get 2.5 liters of fluids pushed into my veins. Then I felt better.

All's fine. V, Dargo, terrier_girl all doing well. V is a happy, babbling crawling 10 month old that is inspiring us to new heights of baby-proofing. She still doesn't sleep through the night, but she wakes fewer times and for less duration, so we're sliding in the right direction.
