It's springtime for Seeker and family

Feb 10, 2011 10:38

After the long PhD stretch, I feel like we're coming back to life. The family's spent so long in work mode that it still feels like a rare treat to go out or see friends. But its starting to be part of our regular practice. I hope I remember this next time I decide to stay out until 1 AM on a worknight. There will be a next time. Almost certainly. (Almost.)

Vivian continues to pick up words at an astounding rate. My favorite of the past few days: "food processor". terrier_girl's favorite seems to be "Silly Dada", which despite our geek tendencies, has less to do with cultural abstactions than my poor attempts to do softshoe.

terrier_girl has a nasty case of bronchitis, which is dovetailing nicely with her morning sickness. But the morning sickness isn't nearly as bad as it has been in the past. Since every pregnancy is different, this probably means nothing, but we're pretending that it means Nubbin is a boy. Time will tell. But despite the uck, she's completed her most recent revision of her Thesis work, and we are rapidly approaching her supposed graduation date. We will see what academic and bureaucratic hijinks that day will bring.

v, body, sleep, terrier, friends, a love of words, the miracle of life, family
