Draw down, day 2

Mar 10, 2011 10:46

The draw down is going well. The first thing to get sacked was the diet. It was near impossible to maintain a diet while also providing food for V and terrier_girl's fickle tummy. Last night all she was able to eat was latkes, so latkes it was. Too much work to make separate meals for me. And I hate wasting food. With Terrier's fickle tummy, I'd be throwing out food left and right. Of course, I didn't need to eat the handful of Cadbury Mini Eggs this morning or the slice of the pound cake I made last night (oh Irma Rombauer, how we love you) but something had to give and I feel gut-bustingly better for it. I'll get back on the weight loss train after Nubbin is born.

On other fronts, I run my last game for a week from Sunday. Great fun but the time commitment is noticeable. I'll enjoy spending Sundays at home with my girls catching up on stuff. I've chosen not to renew our Saturday music classes, which will mean a lot more freedom in how we spend out Saturdays. After Sunday, I'll start looking for other places to cut out commitments.

In other news, in our attempt to turn our family life into a musical we have added the clean up song to our repetoire. We now have the following musical stylings:

  • Wash, Wash, Wash Your Hands - sung to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat
  • Brush Your Teethies - sung to the tune of Frere Jacques
  • Time to Clean Up - sung to the tune of My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean

V also knows:

  • A B C
  • 1, 1 2 1
  • I'm Freezing
  • Riding in the Car
  • I Have A Dog

and probably several others I can't think of right now.

watching them grow, v, not so guilty pleasures, limits of time and space, family, ack
