I woke up this morning at 11 to discover that my alarm hadn't gone off.  I've been meaning to get a new alarm clock for a while now, but just never got around to it.  Well, I started inspecting it and discovered that the reason it didn't go off was because it was 12 hours off--all times were PM instead of AM.  I have no idea how it got this way.  ( Read more... )

My car has steadily been getting worse over the last couple weeks. It always takes a couple tries to start if I've driven it in the last couple hours, but roars to life if the engine is cold. The rubber strip at the top of the windshield has come mostly unglued, and now flaps around on top of the car whenever it's windy or I go over 60 mph.  ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday, sweetie.  Hang in there with the jobs and the Nazis (definitely one of the weirdest birthday wishes I've ever given).  Do something fun with your family, and know that I have prezzies I'm waiting to give you once you're state side.

The snow that started at 1pm on Friday just stopped about 10 minutes ago.  Don't get me wrong, I love snow with the best of them, but I'm relieved it's over.  We've got about 15 inches on the ground.  It was a good deal for the Pats--they won their tenth "Snow Bowl" in a row (though they were playing Arizona, who probably didn't have a chance in ( Read more... )

It's a really good day.  J and Mo got in last night from New York.  Apparently traffic getting out of the city was terrible, and the didn't stop for dinner on the way.  I made them a quick dinner when they got here (at about 11:30), and then we talked about how awesome Obama is.  It's the first time we've seen both of them since the election, so we ( Read more... )

I'm still so happy about Obama winning.  I watched his press conference, and he just seemed so...*presidential*.  And we haven't had that in eight years.

My brother (the one in New York) called me late Tuesday night, after Obama had given his acceptance speech.  He said that it was the most important day of his life, bar none.  And I realized that for the first time since the aftermath of 9/11, I am proud of my country. I am, in fact, more proud of it than I've ever been in my life.
