Drink from the cup and share some luck

I woke up this morning at 11 to discover that my alarm hadn't gone off.  I've been meaning to get a new alarm clock for a while now, but just never got around to it.  Well, I started inspecting it and discovered that the reason it didn't go off was because it was 12 hours off--all times were PM instead of AM.  I have no idea how it got this way.  Yeah, I reset it Saturday for DLS, but the alarm went off on Sunday morning as scheduled. Sometime between then and this morning, the thing just flipped for no reason.

Anyway, about a month ago I applied for a job at an org that does education support and research.  The position had already been filled by the time I found it, but I talked to someone there and she said she'd be happy to recommend me if they another position opened up.  A senior admin position was just posted on their website, so I'm going to apply to that.  It's decent skill building with a good pay check, and because it's for an NP I don't feel like I'm selling my soul.  The only sticky part is that I'm going to hear about the other jobs I interviewed for way before this one; if I get offered one of those I'm going to have to decide whether to cut my losses and take it, or turn them down and really hope I get this one.

I talked to my friend teaching in Korea last night (during yet another round of insomnia.  I'm really ready for my body to stop screwing with me), and he has gone from teaching high school to kindergarten and elementary.  Picturing him in a classroom with those little kids...I'm sure they're running circles around him.  Anyway, he's of the opinion that if I get offered the canvassing director job and they want me to go to Seattle then I should take it, because that's where he's going to be for the next five years.  I'll admit, that job sounds pretty good if they send me some place where I already know people.

Oh, and I get a little bit of a paycheck this week!  My friend needs me to sub-direct at the afterschool again, so yay money!

friends, did that really happen?, responsible life choices
