I am so, so happy about this.  I've been reading Judge Walker's decision, and man, he completely destroys Prop 8.  He just takes it apart, piece by piece, and then tells us about all the benefits of same-sex marriage.  Walker discredited the proponents two* expert witnesses, and lauded all the plaintiffs expert witnesses.  This decision is a thing ( Read more... )

It's been a while since I ventured into LJ land.  I wrote this all up before, and LJ had a temper tantrum, so I'm trying to post it again without any layout nightmares. I'm pretty angry at Congress right now, so let me get the political stuff out of the way.

My brother (the one in New York) called me late Tuesday night, after Obama had given his acceptance speech.  He said that it was the most important day of his life, bar none.  And I realized that for the first time since the aftermath of 9/11, I am proud of my country. I am, in fact, more proud of it than I've ever been in my life.
