I moved this weekend.  Apart from the pouring rain on Saturday, it went pretty smoothly.  I've been running full speed for about two weeks now, without really taking any kind of a break.  No one, NO ONE, is as excited about the upcoming long weekend as I am.

~Things are moving along on the apartment front.  We're currently looking for a new couch--one that's actually comfortable.

Just a quick update because I'm exhausted.  The camp started up this week, and it's been nuts.  The first day was actually pretty calm compared to yesterday, but regardless...I've worked 30 hours so far this week, and the only breaks I've taken are to come home at night and sleep ( Read more... )

So.  I've been largely MIA for the last couple weeks, for a variety of reasons.  First, I've been busy.  Second, I spent a lot of time in a place without internet access, so even when I wasn't busy, I couldn't update.

Just got the phone call--I am officially a Massachusetts Promise Fellow.  WOOHOO!!!

A couple weeks ago some of the tutors did a workshop at the afterschool on origami.  Ever since, we've all been a bit obsessed.  We're going to try to make a thousand paper cranes by the end of the year.  Anyway, today I made this crazy 30-piece geodesic ball thing.  It was tons of fun.

So.  This job (which technically doesn't exist yet, but probably will by the end of next week) has made me appreciate Obama all over again.  Firstly, because the stimulus package is funding this particular job--$201 million of the package is being given to Americorps, which funds the Fellowship.  Secondly, because Kennedy and Obama just passed a ( Read more... )
