I was briefly chatting with someone about Massachusetts electing their new Republican Senator Brown and just couldn't squeeze it into a tweet. If you haven't done early voting for the Nov 3 city election, only today and tomorrow are left. Voting locations are the usual subset of the election day polls-here's a chartWhen I went (closest to Rice: Waugh and West Gray, no. 8 on the map), there was no line at all. Random Houston food PSA: I've been reading the Press's weekly roundup of Houston health code violations for a while now. So someone stored their utensils improperly; OK. But wow, Reliant Stadium just racked up over a hundred violations. That's unheard of. I wonder if you can get a doctor's note stating that you're smuggling your own outside food ( Read more... ) -

So you thought I was a geek before, huh? Check this out: every restaurant, coffeeshop, and pub in Houston that I've eaten out at since February (plus a few more from my iPhone Dining list for reference). I figured I had accumulated enough to look impressive on a map by now.

I found this movie trailer, and its meta was weird. I think they're going for the 20-year-old-male demographic and the Left Behind crowd with the same movie-I wouldn't have thought it possible. What the one loves, the other regards as anathema. But a movie about resisting the apocalypse by blowing up oncoming waves of angels: brilliant. Both groups ( Read more... )
