i've never worked so hard for two Fs in my life

my fingertips really really hurt, it's awesome

i don't remember what it's like not to be studying all the time. under a month until prelims, and so far this whole summer has been nothing but preparing for them.

in light of that, i can say for sure that whoever decided "keeping busy" was the best way to keep your mind off of someone was full of crap

made it through the first year without slipping below the magic 3.0. Now to worry about prelim exams.....

so last year, I had a choice: go to grad school in LA, or in Madison, WI. Like any sane person, I reaaaaaaaaally thought hard about LA, because it would be awesome. I ended up with a GPA that was actually ABOVE 3.0

no failing out for me (this semester)!!!!!!!!

of course I think at least one of my grades was a 'gentleman's B' but I'm not going to complain.....

you know how normal people get wanderlust? they'll be sitting in the office and feel like going off to thailand or whatever? I get brainderlust.... I'll be sitting here studying for finals and in the middle I'll get a great idea for a problem I want to work on, but I can't because I need to focus.
