my life continues sliding downhill!
so last year, I had a choice: go to grad school in LA, or in Madison, WI. Like any sane person, I reaaaaaaaaally thought hard about LA, because it would be awesome. But in the end, I chose madison because of one professor I really respected and wanted to work with, one of the best in the field. Professors of mine who knew him said he was a perfect match for me, when I talked to him he seemed really great, etc. So I get here, and after one semester I learn HE'S MOVING TO SAN DIEGO
so now.... who knows. Since this place now no longer has a professor in the field I like, I guess I need to start looking at transfers. So far my top picks are
a)UCLA (where i almost went)
b)UCSD (where he is)
c)UT-Austin (where an old prof of mine is now and is supposedly running a quite good program)
