6/10 of my immediate co-workers are out or have been out with the hamthrax over the last two work weeks. Infection is looming. I didn't get it when I filled in for a sick coworker and had to use her computer, so I am hoping that I will fight it off.
Good thing I am convinced that soup and tea heal all illness. -

30° humidex, rain and a black sky. This is odd weather for fall. Riding to Preston to meet emperorkefka should be interesting. Glad I have coaster brakes because I can cycle with an umbrella. -

Just signed my letter of offer to become a permanent public servant. Sorry, Canadian public, you're stuck with me. Sworn in and everything, unlike when I started as a student and just had to read the oath to myself.

Made sushi with emperorkefka and watched Død snø. At one point I made a kitty video of Sage on the couch, but you can hear the sounds of Norwegian med students being ripped apart by zombified Nazis in the background even though the only visual is a cute tabby. -

Commuting by the Rideau Canal creates a need to swerve around a variety of obstacles. Sometimes it is a gaggle of geese refusing to let anyone pass. Sometimes it is two separate set of college kids (one each at Carleton and University of Ottawa) painfully trying to be subtle about smoking pot. I was about to get into the shower this morning when I saw "SECRET" and "PROTECTED" stamps on my stomach. I had completely forgotten that I stamped myself while getting classified documents ready for the mail yesterday. Good thing no one saw, because anything with a stamp counts as classified and any classified items have to be locked up outside of ( Read more... ) -
Two Unrelated Things
I got kicked out a senate committee meeting today. Not because of anything I did, the security was increased at the last minute to only allow MPs and their staff inside. I was not too upset to get to go home at 16:00 instead of 19:00. I am supposed to go again next week, which is frustrating because I start my next round of French classes next week ( Read more... )
