Ottawa man gets 60 days for pickle-thievery, assaulting security guard

OTTAWA - A man who put a jar of pickles down his pants before twice assaulting a store security guard was sentenced to 60 days behind bars Tuesday.
Paul Ross Anderson, 48, pleaded guilty to theft and assault, admitting to stealing the $3.29 jar of pickles from the Metro grocery store on Rideau Street on Sept. 23.
He twice kicked a store loss prevention officer in a security office. after being stopped for stealing the pickles.
