Pilot. Wendigo. Dead In The Water. Phantom Traveler.
Bloody Mary. Skin. Hook Man. Bugs. Home. Asylum.
Scarecrow. Faith. Route 666. Nightmare. The Benders.

I'm all meta'd out right now, and specifically on Shadow. So this ( Read more... )

Sam is assuming Dean will have trouble letting him go, because he came back in Scarecrow, and Dean is assuming Sam will stay indefinitely... because he came back in Scarecrow. It all has a flow, and just like Asylum begat the fight in Scarecrow, the end of Scarecrow begat this scene.I adore you meta. Do I say that enough? That makes sense ( ... )

Thank you! It makes sense to me. I don't know if I've said this before, but it was that scene in Shadow which brought me back to feeling the respect for Sam that I'd unfortunately lost post-Home. ...Huh. Funny how that works. The more Kripke pushes one brother's woobie factor, the more I find myself drawn to the other. What gives? I guess victimization bothers me, because it implies there is also a villain. And that mindset really bothers me regarding their relationship ( ... )

Oh, yeah. It's just heartbreaking all around, and yet hopeful, too.

Thanks! :)

Everyone's saying that. Hee. ;)

You caught some touches I missed while watching the episode. Especially those last two at the end.

It looks just as if Dean wants to lay his head on Sam's chest and just mourn, or be comforted or something. And the fact that Sam just stands there-- looking over Dean instead of AT him-- is a meta of its own to me. One that hurts me again and again. :(

Great job as usual. :)

Thank you! I'm rather disappointed over the lack of touching, though. Nightmare was so wonderful, but this is three out of the last four episodes, now, with hardly any touching. *grumble*

And the fact that Sam just stands there-- looking over Dean instead of AT him-- is a meta of its own to me.

Oh, yes. There's so much going on there. Hey, you could write that meta. (Do you meta?) Or you could write a fic about it. Pretty please, with a Sam-over-Dean on top? :)

Thank you. I wonder that, too. Perhaps because of where Kripke wanted to take the characters, he kept the love in a language (so to speak) that Sam has greater control over? Hmm.

It's just a fantastic image, but the scene around it means that I rarely, if ever, watch it. *sigh* It's perhaps awful to admit, but except for the purpose of study and analysis, I rarely watch any scene from Shadow. A lot of it is just too OOC and/or melodramatic, and there's an overwhelming sense of "just what did we accomplish?" in retrospect.

16.3 is probably my favorite Dean and Sam near each other moment in the entire season. Dean looking down, Sam looking up and the way Dean crosses in front of Sam and the looking over Dean's head. I don't care if they actually touch or not because they might as well have from the way it feels.
